Here are a few new ribbon necklaces I made last night to take to the Muncie Artworks Gallery. All together I was able to take over fifty pieces. I'm very excited about the reception Thursday night. Tonight was the first time to see the gallery, and it is beautifully done. Have a great week, and thanks for looking.
Muncie Artworks Gallery Beginning October 1st
I will be at the Artworks Gallery in Muncie, Indiana as the featured artist the month of October. The reception is scheduled for Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM ~ If you are local, it would be great to see you! ( Address information )
A Few Beads From the Weekend
I did not get as much torching done this weekend as I would have liked, but here are a few fresh from the kiln.
The photos really have a glare, and the beads do look better in person. I will take better pictures later. Have a great week everyone, and thanks for peeking!
Here's A New One
I'm torching this weekend, and hopefully will have more beads to post the first of next week. Thanks, Lori, for the great copper beads....they worked well! Have a great weekend!
Getting Ready For The October Show
I've been working on some finished peices for the Muncie Artworks Gallery show in October. I have really enjoyed working with the silk ribbons from Jamn Glass. The ribbon colors match the beads perfectly, and they are so easy to work with. All ends are finished making the ribbon length adjustable.
Here is a terracotta ribbon paired with an electroformed leaf bead. The ribbon looks very nice with the copper, and combined with the amethyst color of the bead, it has a very warm feel. Perfect colors for fall.
This pendant would be perfect with blue jeans! However, the shiny silver gives it a very classy look and it could easily be dressed up. I have used a change-a-bead post from McDuck Creations.
This is one of my favorites. Like many of my beads, this one has been electroformed up the sides and "framed" in copper.

Indiana Artisan ~Beads and Jewelry
Back in August my glass beads juried into the Indiana Artisan program. I decided to submit my jewelry for the second adjudication. I was notified today that my jewelry has been accepted, and may also carry the Indiana Artisan brand logo. For more details on the Indiana Artisan program, please check out this past post: Indiana Celebrates the Arts!
Dichro Pastel Organic Focal Bead
I had a chance to torch this weekend, and here are a few fresh out of the kiln. I worked on more Winter White beads, but was not happy with the results. I will try again this week, and hopefully will have some worthy of posting next week.
